Family Memories and a Giveaway

Scrapbooks have been a big priority in our house ever since we adopted our kids.  I love how the kids laugh and talk about what makes those memories so special to them.  I love that their memory books are not perfect albums that are sitting on a book shelf gathering dust year after year.  I love that those memory books give the kids a glimpse of how much they have grow and matured.  I love that our family memories are not just moments in time that I treasure.  I love that when the memory books get pulled out, the whole family gathers around for a special trip down memory lane.

With that said, there are a few things that I do not LOVE about our memory books.  I do not have a craft room, so spreading out the supplies and photos to create a page worthy of the memory can be time consuming, messy and expensive.  I do not love that when I make a mistake, unless I want to start over, I have to live with it.  I hate getting every thing spread out only to realize that I printed the wrong picture, or that I am out of adhesive.

And so much changes in the scrapbook world.  Tools, die cutting machines and cartridges, inks, pens or markers to match your project colors, stamps are impossible to keep up with and so very expensive.  There has to be an easier way.

Turns out that there is an easier way!

I was contacted about trying a new digital scrapbook program.  I was skeptical, but I did not want to turn down a free offer.  I downloaded the My Memories Suite and within 15 minutes I was finished designing an adoarble page from scratch.  I chose a background, uploaded a photo, added photo mats and shadows,  I added colorful elements like ribbon, flowers and paperclips as well as a little journal box in a fun colorful font.  I also designed a title for the page with the text tool.  Have you ever done all that in 15 minutes with no mess to clean up?  I was astounded.  I still am.

Remember this birthday party for my daughter?  This is what I made...

I have been working on pages ever since.  I am almost ready to print my first album.  But for now, I want to tell you about this fantastic software. My Memories is easy to learn.  It is so user friendly and so easy to use.  You can buy pre-designed templates or kits for very reasonable prices.  Also, they offer free add on's from their website that you can use.

But wait! There's More...

This is a great tool for bloggers that want to create signs or add text to photos

In a few minutes you can create custom signs, announcements, and add text and embellishments to your photos. This is a great program for bloggers. Just save your new creation as a JPEG document and then upload it to your blog. It is fast, easy and so fun.

So I want to share this with you.  Not only did I get a free copy to try out, but My Memories generously gave me a copy to give away to one lucky person.
