I started my table scape with a navy blue tablecloth.
Some lemony yellow place mats and our white dinner plates went on as layer number two.
Our everyday silverware and a fun appetizer plate went onto the table next.
I am using my favorite wine glasses tonight and an extra bottle of the wine I am serving with dinner. I like to put an extra bottle of wine on the table sometimes so people can read the bottle. It's just a fun little conversation starter if your guests enjoy wine.
My favorite white napkins tied with a thin yellow ribbon finish off each place setting.
Now it's time for the centerpiece. Instead of a vase of flowers or a bowl of fruit, I am getting a little creative with a sprig of greenery, fruit and candles. To begin with, I am laying a garland of greenery down the middle of the table.
Next, some bright lemons add a punch of color to the table.
I nestled some frosted glass candle holders into the greenery next.
I also hid a couple of saucers under the greenery to put some candles on. I did not want the wax to mark my table cloth in any way. The lemons, candle holders and greenery hid the saucers.
Here it is all ready to go for the evening. I love the way it turned out.
This French inspired tablescape deserves a French inspired menu to make everything complete. I am serving Provençal Inspired Bread Pudding, Lemon Herb Chicken Tenders, and a simple salade with a lemon and Parmesan dressing. My recommended wine pairing for this meal would be a young Chardonnay. Enjoy!
